Reflecting on 2017, UDC is pleased to share that our company and employees were able to touch many lives this year by giving of our time and resources. UDC is committed to strengthening our community and the world around us. We are pleased to have contributed to the following initiatives and organizations during 2017…
Helping Families in Puerto Rico
In response to the needs of Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria, UDC came together to assist seven families living there and who are related to our employees. Families were sent battery-powered fans and flashlights as well as canned and dry foods donated by UDC and our employees. Our California staff personally packed and shipped many items donated by their office.
UDC also responded with support for Samaritan’s Purse, an international organization bringing relief to hurricane victims in both Houston and Puerto Rico in 2017.
Lending a Hand for Kids in Our Community
Our Wisconsin staff assisted in packing healthy snacks for underserved or low-income youth on behalf of the United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha County.
Remembering a Coworker and Friend
UDC’s project staff at Pacific Gas and Electric collected funds for the family of a PG&E subcontractor in remembrance of their coworker and friend who passed away.
Helping Families in Kansas City, MO
Members of the UDC Kansas City Power and Light team joined KCP&L’s sourcing specialist in September for their annual Habitat for Humanity volunteer event. They worked together restoring neighborhood homes for low income families needing assistance remodeling.
UDC team members also supported the local Toys for Tots program sponsored by KCP&L giving and wrapping gifts for children in need this Christmas.
Supporting Innovative Local Teens
UDC extended a sponsorship to an impressive group of innovative thinkers belonging to a local high school robotics team and members of CORE – the Community of Robotics Engineers.
