Objective: Develop ADMS RFP
UDC is happy to announce its continued work with CORE on its initiative to select an operational Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) for more modern grid management. Running in parallel with the efforts to build a Network Information Management System and migrate the cooperative’s electric distribution data to the ArcGIS Utility Network data model, UDC is also assisting CORE in developing an RFP to select an ADMS vendor. This is UDC’s fifth engagement with CORE on its grid modernization journey.
Project Goals
CORE aims to modernize its grid by improving the grid’s resiliency and efficiency, enhancing outage operations and response times, supporting connection to renewable energy sources for its members, refining customer demand response programs, and implementing condition-based asset management.
This project gets CORE another step closer to its ultimate goal of updating its current ADMS. Allocating dedicated time to create the RFP helps the cooperative stay aligned with the latest ADMS industry offerings and next-generation roadmaps. Equally important, this process also ensures that the cooperative chooses the right long-term ADMS partner for its organization that can meet its individual operational requirements.
UDC’s Role
In addition to assisting CORE with the development of the ADMS RFP, UDC is also supporting the related procurement, selection, and scoping processes. Working closely with CORE’s Electric and IT businesses, UDC is helping to identify the cooperative’s functional and technical requirements, facilitate vendor demonstrations, connect CORE with peer utilities that have successfully implemented the selected vendor’s ADMS solution, and assist both CORE and the vendor in creating the implementation statement of work.
