UDC will co-present with Pacific Gas and Electric Company during the 2018 Schneider Electric Link meeting in Loveland, CO. Link is an educational conference hosted by Schneider Electric that focuses on industry trends and maximizing the value of their Solutions. PG&E serves a 70,000-square mile area of about 15 million people in Northern California and is headquartered in San Francisco. UDC has worked with PG&E for over 10 years supporting our client’s success on numerous projects and programs. Our joint presentation features UDC’s implementation of the Digital Utility® Compliance Manager application at PG&E for the purpose of Cathodic Protection Survey. The presentation will take place on day two of the conference, Wednesday, March 1st, during the 8:30-9:20 a.m. timeslot.
PG&E and UDC will provide a brief overview of the enterprise Esri ArcGIS application that supports end-to-end management of planned work, preventative maintenance, inspections and surveys and provides robust compliance management and reporting capabilities for gas and electric utilities. We will focus on the benefits realized by PG&E from this solution.
The Digital Utility® Compliance Management framework uses built-in integrations to send all created work to the utility’s scheduling and dispatching system(s). Integrations with Mobile Work Management and Enterprise Asset Management systems allow the Digital Utility® Compliance Manager’s® reporting module to provide highly visual status reporting, compliance reporting and daily operational reporting to PG&E and enables full transparency for the utility.
The benefits realized for PG&E and being highlighted during the presentation include:
- PG&E’s ability to visually define all CP surveys by CP area once in the GIS
- Utilizing a digital field collection mGIS application that allows the crews to
- Collect CP test point readings
- Add new CP test points
- Add CP remediation facilities to the CP area, to the GIS and retest and record results
- Indicate how they found, what they did and how they left the CP area
- Using the powerful Digital Utility® Gas Compliance Manager’s® monitoring and reporting functionality to visually see status of all active CP + Surveys and reduce the risk of missing compliance dates
- Real-time dashboard reporting for all interested parties including
- Operations
- Engineering
- Integrity Management
- Asset Management
