Norwich Public Utilities (NPU) recognizes that the industry is moving towards Esri’s Utility Network and would like to be well positioned to make the transition. Established in 1904, NPU provides four utilities to the City of Norwich, Connecticut (electric, gas, water, and wastewater collection).
UDC is working with NPU to analyze their existing gas and electric data models, including the geometric network. The end goal of the pilot project is two-fold. The first piece is to develop a methodology to migrate the existing data with a minimal amount of manual effort, and the second piece is to provide NPU with insight into ways they can manage their current data and processes to streamline their eventual transition to Utility Network. This effort will allow NPU to be prepared to migrate to the next generation of network modeling with the least possible amount of manual configuration.
