Ed Riegelmann joins UDC as Senior Vice President and Federal Service Area Leader. Ed comes onboard to UDC with expertise in developing and managing enterprise scale geographic information system (GIS) programs, information technology projects, web and mobility solutions, survey and mapping projects, and database development, with an emphasis on Federal government organizations. With a well-established background in Federal GIS, Ed will lead the development of UDC’s Federal service area and will champion and grow UDC’s capabilities into this market.
Ed’s previous industry appointments and responsibilities include leading and consulting on geospatial information management as Chief Geospatial Officer with Locana and managing a global line of business serving all twelve of CH2M Hill’s engineering business groups as Vice President for CH2M Hill. Ed additionally held leadership positions with Geo Insight, Inc., the US Army Corps of Engineers, and Intergraph Corporation.
During his career, Ed has helped clients develop, establish, and operate global enterprise geospatial programs for the US Air Force (GeoBase), US Navy (GeoReadiness), US Marine Corps (GEOFidelis), and US Secretary of Defense (Defense Installation Spatial Data Infrastructure – DISDI). He also designed and developed the Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE) – GIS data content standards supporting US military installation missions worldwide that are still in use today. Ed has also authored more than forty GIS-based, enterprise scale Strategic Plans, Gap Analyses, Business Process Needs Assessments, and Implementation Plans for clients worldwide.
