UDC CFO Gail Chubb Retires

Gail Chubb, Chief Financial Officer

Though we’re excited for the start of her new chapter, it is with a heavy heart that we announce Gail Chubb’s retirement from UDC as Chief Financial Officer.

Gail provided accounting and payroll support to UDC as an independent business owner starting in 2007 and officially joined the organization as COO in 2020, moving into the CFO position in 2022. “I can tell you with absolute certainty that there is no more significant hiring decision at UDC than convincing Gail to join the company,” shares Hamid Akhavan, CEO of UDC. Gail’s strategic management of UDC’s finances was instrumental in the company’s successful growth. She took on many responsibilities within the organization, heading up UDC’s Human Resources and Administration in addition to her duties as CFO.

“Those of us who have had the privilege of working closely with Gail will attest to her incredible business acumen, organizational skills, technical skills, leadership qualities, professionalism, ethics, honesty, integrity, and hard work. People who say ‘no one’s perfect’ obviously haven’t met Gail.”

Gail’s influence extended beyond her financial expertise. She mentored many employees within the company, leaving an indelible mark on the professionalism and character of UDC’s operational, financial, and administrative teams. “Somehow I suspect Gail will not really retire from being involved in contributing to others, and that is a good thing for all who know her,” says Bill Nantell, Executive VP Emeritus and UDC Advisory Board Member. True to form, Gail is continuing her role as a mentor, joining Bill on UDC’s Advisory Board where she will carry on providing guidance to UDC’s leadership team.

“I am confident that UDC’s success growing from a small boutique data services provider firm to the most significant utility services provider and partner would not have been without the exceptional leadership and contributions Gail assumed and performed for all of us. She has set the standard we all will use to measure any CFO’s performance.”
