GeoConX 2018 Presentation
PG&E is actively engaged in a multi-year project to ensure their corrosion management is best in class. Historically, each field office kept independent records, and there was little communication across areas regarding the state of systems. One of the best ways to end this siloed state was to model cathodic protection in the utility’s enterprise Gas Distribution GIS.
This presentation demonstrates how PG&E worked with UDC to solve the issue of obtaining data from multiple field office locations and the solution used to integrated it into GIS, enabling PG&E to perform the advanced modeling and planning required to achieve their corrosion management program goals.
