ArcGIS users can now easily identify Esri partners with skills and experience in delivering ArcGIS Online apps and services thanks to the new ArcGIS Online Specialty. The ArcGIS Online Specialty designates partners in the Esri Partner Network that have developed a proven set of value-added services and solutions that help users implement and optimize ArcGIS Online in their organizations.
By demonstrating ability to implement and extend both Esri ArcGIS Online and Portal for ArcGIS, we are proud to announce that UDC has been accepted into Esri’s ArcGIS Online Specialty. To achieve this specialty, UDC worked with our Esri Business Partner Manager to gain the knowledge required for the designation.
Featured ArcGIS Online and Portal Solutions
The specialty application provided an opportunity for UDC to share several success stories with the Esri team demonstrating UDC’s proven experience. These client user stories highlight solutions built to extend the capabilities of ArcGIS Online and Portal users in the areas of real-time analytics, visualization, sharing and collaboration, monitoring, and decision support.
Advanced Project Reporting
The first case study details how we met our client’s need for a timely monitoring and reporting solution for a field asset inventory project. By implementing ArcGIS Online and using ArcGIS WebApp Builder paired with our Digital Utility® solution, UDC was able to develop the Field Asset Inventory Dashboard which is used by both our client at various levels within their organization and UDC as the FAI contractor. We were able to tap into the configurability of Esri technology and inject widgets previously designed within Digital Utility®, a solution built on Esri ArcGIS, minimizing development time overall. The solution is saving hundreds of hours previously spent on manual report management and distribution.
Enhanced Damage Prevention
A second user story features a utility that wanted the ability to visualize, search and use analysis tools, within a mapping interface, that would provide the user an in-depth association between ticket location, overdue status, and vehicle location from their existing One Call ticket management system used to manage gas locating ticket requests.
UDC collaborated with our client to build their custom application used by over 1100 internal users from the company’s pipeline safety, gas operations, work plan resource management and customer strategy centers. As a result of implementing Esri Portal technology, in combination with the utility’s One Call ticket management system, users are able to search related tickets and vehicles using a custom enhanced search widget and correlate direct relationship to company assets within the map interface. The real-time visualization vehicle feed via GeoEvent Server enables work plan resource management to reroute vehicles that are in a closer proximity to tickets than those that are not for increased efficiency.
Damage Prevention Strategies uses the Ticket Viewer information via the Collector Application on iPads. The custom application is invaluable to damage prevention for the company. See the project profile – Enhanced Damage Prevention for more information.
