UDC is pleased to announce the release of our high-fidelity auto-migration tool for use in migrating from any GIS platform to the Esri Utility Network model. The solution is adaptable to all three possible source models, non-Esri, ArcGIS, or ArcGIS/ArcFM databases. At this point, our technology provides the greatest level of data model automation and complex container automation for utilities that have already deployed ArcGIS/ArcFM platforms. The UDC migration tool dubbed HEIDE (pronounced ‘high-dee’) has been designed to perform High-Fidelity Export/Import Data Exchange to automatically transform utility data when moving to the Utility Network. HEIDE prepares your utility data for the more complex model by creating the new asset package, applying the package, and providing auto configuration for minimal manual configuration effort during your migration.
The use of UDC’s HEIDE in the utility data migration and conversion process is a unique approach enabling utilities to take full advantage of all the advanced functionality that the Utility Network has to offer including:
- Advanced Tracing
- Subnetwork Modeling – support for secondary mesh networks, spot networks, loops
- Network Diagrams – schematics, one-lines, feeder maps
- Non-Geometric Associations
- Containers – substation internals, switchgear internals, vaults, manholes, moles
More than a simple feature class to feature class migration, HEIDE creates subtypes and asset types, includes the structure network, infers connectivity and implements rules. In addition, utilities can still use the terminology they are used to. HEIDE is applicable for migrations from Schneider Electric ArcFM, Esri, and Non-Esri platforms.
