This year’s IMGIS conference gets underway in October at the Palm Springs Convention Center. The event joins together infrastructure management professionals across several sectors to discuss how utilities can use GIS to move their location intelligence forward. Participants can expect to hear from GIS leaders on topics such as sustainable and connected infrastructure and how they are leveraging GIS to solve industry challenges within their organizations. The conference also offers educational opportunities through technical workshops, demonstrations, networking, and customer presentations. Stop by to see our sponsored exhibit.

Gas Utility Network Management – 2
Building a Template for Enterprise-wide Network Management Success
Tuesday, Nov 1 / 2:30 PM – 3:30 PM
Sierra / Ventura
AVANGRID worked with UDC to define a GIS Utility and Pipeline Data Model (UPDM) template to standardize all gas network companies in the future. Through a two-track initiative, one focused on data conversion tasks and the other on application development, AVANGRID companies Southern Connecticut Gas and Berkshire Gas Company leveraged their existing infrastructure investment as well as investments in Esri and Schneider Electric software to create a complete distribution-level GIS with spatial locations for utility gas assets. Join the team to learn more about the project and insights gained.

Applying UN to Real-world Business Applications
Monday, Oct 31 / 5:30 PM
Tuesday, Nov 1 / 10:00 AM
Booth 230
After you have completed your migration to the Utility Network, your data can then be leveraged to enhance existing workflows. As the Utility Network facilitates improved representation of assets as they exist in the real-world, this enables other business applications and processes which use the GIS to also improve outputs. Subnetworks support enhanced isolation tracing and system reporting. ArcGIS Pro add-ins are enabling Integrity teams to calculate risk and meet DOT/PHMSA reporting requirements more efficiently. Utilizing scheduled geoprocessing tasks, such as data exports, allows Planning and other teams to frequently ingest data for use in tools such as Synergi. We invite you to join in the discussion and see how utilities are applying the network management capabilities of the Utility Network to address real business needs.

Field Maps and Utility Mobile Workflows
Monday, Oct 31 / 2:30 PM
Tuesday, Nov 1 / 11:00 AM
Booth 230
With the advent of mobile applications and the ability for workforces to work offline, more utilities are venturing into the world of mobile/field data collection tools with the hope that they will finally digitize the last of their paper trail woes. By leveraging their investment in the Esri’s ArcGIS Enterprise, utilities can improve data quality and accuracy by moving data entry from the office to the field. Join us to learn about the enhancements in Esri’s Field Maps that could help your utility transition to a completely digital workflow.
