Project Highlights

Project Duration: 03/2022 – Ongoing

Objective: Utility Network Work Order Maintenance

UDC is excited to continue its work with AVANGRID companies, Southern Connecticut Gas (SCG) and Berkshire Gas Company (BGC), on data maintenance. To help the companies maintain their new Utility Network GIS, UDC is making updates to the data using as-built and maintenance job records. The project began in March of 2022 and is ongoing.

AVANGRID Goals

AVANGRID is looking for business process support from UDC to maintain a current and accurate GIS for SCG and BGC in the Utility Network. Through the data upkeep of its Utility Network assets, the utility is ensuring that its GIS features remain compatible within the new model.

This effort stems from a larger initiative to align all eight AVANGRID companies under one GIS technology and platform.

UDC’s Role

Along with helping to maintain the Utility Network data for SCG and BGC, UDC is supplying GIS services as needed, including updates to the data model, symbology, and attribute rules as well as support for web applications, systems, and workflows.
